Cardweaving Basics
Card (or tablet) weaving has been used since ancient times to create intricately patterned and strong belts and bands. The best part? You don’t need a loom or any fancy or expensive equipment to do it! All you need is yarn, a set of weaving cards, a couple of clamps from the hardware store and a table to clamp them to. Really. No loom required, although you can use a rigid heddle or inkle loom to hold your card weaving project in place as you weave
In this class, you’ll learn the basics of how to create a warp using weaving cards and make a simple two-color band. You’ll also learn some tips and tricks to keep your cards straight and learn how to do more complicated patterns.
All materials are provided.
One, four-hour class. $175 Six student maximum.
